Peyman Ghaffari

I received my Ph.D. in Mathematical-Physics at Imperial College (London). My PhD research involved the application of mathematical tools in particle physics on Self-Organized Criticality. I also received an M.S. (German Diploma in Physics) in Theoretical Plasma Physics at University of Düsseldorf (Germany). After finishing my PhD at Imperial I worked as industrial consultant in Germany focusing on establishing Joint-Ventures between International companies wanting to penetrate the Middle-Eastern markets. In 2006 I decided to work as a visiting scientist at Imperial College parallel to my consultancy. 2007 I co-founded CIRC (Complexity and Interdisciplinary Research Centre) at Imperial College providing a platform to transmit the ideas of “Complexity Research” into Industry.

Since 2010 I am at CMAF University of Lisbon in the Mathematical Biology Group researching on different aspect of Stochastical Processes in Biology and Epidemiology, including Accidental Pathogenicity, Semi-classical Approximation Methods, Epidemiological Spreading and Data-Analysis.
